"The Melodious Faithful" exhibit contains hundreds of original photos and artifacts from the House of David’s extensive archival holdings, none of which have been exhibited to the public. Come see more than thirty restored rare vintage instruments, including violins, saxophones, trumpets, and drums (many more than a hundred years old), which were played by the commune’s illustrious musicians. You will also see the only surviving hand-crafted guitars from the House of David’s workshops. And come learn about its many virtuosos and composers, including Manna Woodworth, Miriam Hannaford, Flossie Tulk, and famous bandleader and showman Chic Bell, among many others. And for the first time ever exhibited to the public, experience rare recordings of the colony’s bands and historic film footage from some of their performances.
