Adventure Awaits

Join us as we visit our Great Lakes State and other parts of the country on tours designed for history fans. We know Michigan is a fabulous state for culture and history. But we also know there is great history throughout North America. That’s why we developed our Michiganders on the Road® motorcoach tours. You may find other tours out there, but none are going to give you the history-filled adventure that Michiganders on the Road provides.

Upcoming Tours

We're Going IN! The Hidden Histories of Indiana Tour

We're Going IN! The Hidden Histories of Indiana Tour
August 10-13, 2023

We know what you're thinking... Indiana? Really? As Michiganders, we're usually not too keen about visiting our cornfield neighbors below the border. But trust us—this Michiganders on the Road 4-day adventure is going to be one-of-a-kind! (And worth voyaging into Hoosier country.) Join us for the Auburn Cord Dusenberg Automobile Museum, the Benjamin Harrison House, an evening at the Beef & Board Dinner Theatre, the Indianapolis Zoo, and the amazing living history experience at Connor Prairie.

Registration for this 4-day tour is now open! Register online.

Vive L'Histoire! A French Canada Tour

Vive L'Histoire! A French Canada Tour
May 30-June 7, 2023

You read that right—Michiganders on the Road is going international! Join us for our first-ever trip across the U.S. border as we explore the rich history of French Canada. With a distinctly French flair and a native-speaking guide accompanying HSM's Bob Myers, this immersive tour in Canada will be one-of-a-kind. This tour is still being finalized but stops will include Upper Canada Village, Pointe-a-Calliere Museum, La Citadelle de Québec, Montmorency Falls, and more.

This tour is not available for registration and the interest form is currently closed. Please email hsm@hsmichigan.org or call us at (800) 692-1828 if you have any questions.

We have been on three of the tours and, being history enthusiasts, are impressed at the careful planning that goes into these trips and how knowledgeable Bob is about the regions visited and the history each area holds.

The HSM Difference

Our excursions are not “cookie-cutter” tours. Each and every trip is planned and executed by Robert Myers, HSM’s own director of education programming, along with the help of other HSM staff. Bob has decades of experience in the history field and has led scores of motorcoach tours, so he knows what history enthusiasts look for in their road trips. Bob also gives his personal attention to every aspect of the outings, and as the tour leader, he makes sure your history experience meets your expectations.
