Resources

One of the many services offered by the Historical Society of Michigan is providing historical resource referrals.

By clicking on Local Historical Organizations, you will be directed to a list of historical societies, museums, archives and other history destinations.  In order to be listed here, the organization must be a current member of HSM.  Their listing will either link directly to their website or, if they do not have a presence on the web, to a page we have placed with current information we have.  HSM also publishes the Michigan History Directory, which lists all organizations regardless of membership.  It is available for purchase ($14.95 members, $19.95 non-members plus shipping) through our online store.

The HSM Library is an onsite resource in our Lansing office which is available for use by our members.

Educational Resources include materials that are of use to teachers who are involved in teaching Michigan history or simply are interested in our state’s heritage and looking for ways to integrate information into their classroom instruction.

Research Links takes you to a wide variety of history-related resources which may be helpful in your historical research.

Storytellers, Speakers & Musicians lists HSM members who are available for presentations in schools, local historical societies, libraries and other settings.
