State History Awards

Awarded annually at the State History Conference
Each year the Historical Society of Michigan presents a State History Award to those individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the appreciation and understanding of Michigan history. Criteria: Excellence of achievement by an individual or organization in the collection, preservation and promotion of state and local history in the following categories:
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Special Programs/Events
- Media
- Local Societies
- Institutions
- Businesses
- Distinguished Volunteer Service
- Distinguished Professional Service
- Restoration/Preservation
- Educational: Educational Programs
- Education: Educator
- Publications: Newsletters & Websites
- Publications: Books: University & Commercial
- Publications: Books: Private Printing
2012 State History Award Nomination Form
Individuals currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the Historical Society of Michigan are not eligible for this award.
Nominations are due in the HSM offices by 5pm on Friday, July 27, 2012. Postmarks are not accepted.
