The Historical Society of Michigan's 60th annual Upper Peninsula History Conference will be held June 26-28, 2009 in Newberry, Michigan. The conference features a pre-conference workshop and tours, Friday evening outdoor BBQ with musical entertainment, three keynotes, Saturday breakout sessions, the annual Upper Peninsula History Awards Banquet, exhibitors, a training track for local museums and historical societies and a closing downtown history tour.

The conference is hosted by the Luce County Historical Society and sponsored by the Erickson Center for the Arts.

Pre-conference Workshop: Michigan History at Your Finger Tips: Using Resources On-line
Presented by Deb Biggs-Thomas, Library of Michigan and Ken Miller, Bayliss Public Library
Michigan History at Your Finger Tips will explore the collections of the on-line treasure trove called MeL Michigana, the Upper Peninsula Digitization Center Collections, local library collections including the Bayliss Public Library and other resources.
