Established in 1828, the Historical Society of Michigan relies partly on the support of its members to fulfill its mission of preserving and promoting Michigan’s history. Membership dues help support our educational outreach, conferences, workshops, publications, and services for local historical organizations. As a member of the Society, you will receive a number of membership benefits (subscriptions to history magazines, discounts at our conferences and workshops, and much more).
Michigan History magazine, published since 1917, is a benefit at select membership levels. Readers may also purchase a subscription to the magazine without joining the Historical Society of Michigan.
