Michigan in Perspective: The Local History Conference is held annually in the spring in the metropolitan Detroit area. The conference is open to  anyone interested in state or regional history – with participation each year from historians, genealogists, librarians, education specialists, writers, historical society volunteers and many others. Over 500 people attended the 2013 conference in Livonia.
