June 13 & 14: Pickford
The Pickford Area Historical Society is sponsoring a quilt show at the Pickford High School on June 13 from 10am to 6 pm and June 14 10am to 4 pm. All proceeds will be used for museum operations.

July 17-20: Iron River
Come and celebrate the 2nd annual “Rum Rebellion Heritage Days.” This festival commemorates the descent of Federal Prohibition Officers on Iron River on February 1920 in their attempt to wipe out alcohol sales and consumption. August 28-31: Chassell
Festival Joie de Vivre a French Canadian Festival August 28-31, 2008. This Festival is being sponsored by the Chassell Historical Organization at the Chassell Heritage Center, a Keweenaw Heritage Site, in Chassell, Michigan, Houghton County. The intent of this celebration is to bring awareness to the general public of the rich French Canadian history of the Keweenaw and of Chassell Township, in particular. Funds raised throughout the festival will be funneled into the handicapped accessibility project of the Chassell Heritage Center.
